TAPE TRASH
NOT GOING HOME

TAPE TRASH releases new music for the first time in two years!

Influenced by the music they listened to as eager teenagers, picking up their instruments for the first time, Anders Magnor Killerud (Ludvig Moon, Kyss På Halsen, Team Me) and Kristofer Mathias Staxrud (Spielbergs, Hilma Nikolaisen, Ludvig Moon) of TAPE TRASH create indie rock with hints of dream pop, shoegaze and emo. After an involuntary hiatus due to the pandemic, the duo has spent the last year working on new music. «NOT GOING HOME» is the first single from their upcoming debut album.

«NOT GOING HOME» is an expansive, yet melancholic, indierock anthem, combining hard-hitting drums and a wall of guitars with soaring atmospheric harmonies. On the song the band takes inspiration from Elliott Smith, the Kent album Hagnesta Hill and the movie Magnolia by Paul Thomas Anderson. Lyrically, the song deals with the doubt, guilt, and fear that can haunt those leaving behind a strict religious belief system, while it also expresses a yearning for wholeness and meaning.

For fans of: Bloc Party, Smashing Pumpkins, Elliott Smith and Broken Social Scene
